Event Design: TABLEFEST

In fall 2022, Shepherd’s Table hosted TABLEFEST: a neighborhood block party that also served as the annual fundraiser. I designed the creative direction of the event and implemented it across collateral. This included print flyers and social media graphics used in promotion as well as t-shirts and signs ordered for the event.

The design of the event utilized the three of the five colors that define the Shepherd’s Table’s palette. I leaned into the expression of the palette that aligned with fun, autumnal colors to emphasize the seasonal nature of the event.

I mimicked the look of hand-carved and printed linocut artwork for the aesthetic of the event. The handmade nature of printmaking and the protest flyer, activist emphasis of the medium was leveraged to craft the community-centered, collaborate nature of Shepherd’s Table’s work: bringing neighbors together to feed those in need in the community. I used this aesthetic in the digital drawings I created for the title text, shapes, and a plate illustration for the event.

Plate Illustration

The plate illustration is based off of photographs taken at Shepherd’s Table, depicting real meals served to our guests. Emphasizing the plate in the marketing of the event helped to cultivate the food-centric theme of the event, as well as anchor guests in the purpose behind the fundraising.
