Illustrations for Telos Tote Bag

Telos is a U.S.-based peacemaking organization seeking to transform conflict through a vision of mutual flourishing. While programs have expanded to address a host of domestic and global conflicts, the catalyzing work began in Israel and Palestine. Since the onset of heightened violence against Palestinians in October 2023, Telos has been doing work to advocate for a ceasefire, against the genocide in Gaza, and against antisemitism at home and abroad.

I created illustrations for merch that was launched as part of their fundraising efforts during the 2023 holiday season. While the designs have appeared on mugs and stickers, they were designed with the tote bag in mind. The illustrations come from linocut relief prints I created and then scanned to create the digital files. The linocut aesthetic, in addition to being a focal point of my personal fine art practice, aligns with the grassroots activism imagery at the heart of Telos’ work.
